Live Greek Music
Greek music is not put on specially for tourists in Pelion. You may, however, catch live Greek music on any night in a local taverna, if someone is having a celebration.
In the height of the summer Rembekiko singers come to Penguinos in Agios Andreas to sing and play bouzouki throughout the night.
The taverna in the Argalasti platia has music throughout the year on Saturday nights. During the summer the music is shifted to the beach at Prortaria.
The En Plo taverna in Milina holds live music nights throughout the summer. and can be Greek rock and electronic music, or English rock, blues, reggae and folk rock.
The Ostria Bar holds live music nights throughout the summer with traditional and modern Greek music. |
Saint Days and Name Days
There are a great many Saints Days in Greece, often combining with Name Days. These are always a good excuse for a knees-up! Local live bands are hired and the party kicks off around 11pm. The locals start dancing from midnight until dawn. Ag Panayiotis is a major feast day, held on 15th August. Music will be playing from all the tavernas all night!

The theatre in Horto holds classical music concerts throughout the summer, with a mixed program including Greek music. |
Village Festivals
Most Pelion Villages hold a village festival in the summer, usually in late July or August. These can be anything from live Greek music, dancing and food in the village platia, to night time beach festivals in the local fishing village. |
The Pelion Fun Sailing Regatta
Listed as one of the sailing events not to be missed globally, the Pelion Fun Regatta is a small, anachic, and thoroughly enjoyable event. Yachts, dinghies, catamarans, windsurfers and kayaks all race the circuit and compete for glory. The winners and losers are all celebrated! A beach party follows, with live music and plenty of dancing. |
