HANIA AND THE MOUNTAINS
Start in Agria and follow the road up to Drakia and the ski resort village of Hania, on the peak of Mount Pelion at 1200 meters. The views to the Pagasitic Gulf and Aegean Sea are stupendous. If you are feeling adventurous and have a sturdy car follow the scenic route to Kissos. The road is unmade, and times seems more like a river bed than a track. A word of warning! It is quite probable that you could get lost, since the track divides at times, with no markers to help you choose your route. Have a good map with you to help you.
Kissos is set high on the mountain in a landscape of beech and chestnut trees, and is famous for its basilica church, Agia Marina.

From there, follow the mountain road south to Tsangarada, which is made up of the four villages of Agios Stephanos, Agios Kiriaki, Agios Paraskavi and Taxiarches.
Agios Paraskavi village square is famous for its enormous thousand year old plane tree, under which the locals relax and enjoy the mountain air. There is a fresh mountain water spring at the side of the platia.
There are many tavernas and bars to choose from along the route, and there is a beautiful tranquil walk down through the forest, following the river valley to Milopotamos beach.
The roads on the east coast are narrow and winding, and follow the contours of the coastline so allow plenty of time for your journey.
