Who Can Rent our Kayaks?
Sea Kayaks are great for the whole family! Children love jumping and diving off them, and racing each other around the bay. You don't need to be a swimmer to enjoy kayaking. The kayaks are unsinkable. Just put on a buoyancy aid, hop on top of the kayak and paddle away.

Buoyancy aids and life jackets are available for adults and children. Infant life jackets are available. Non swimmers and people who are not confident in the water should wear a buoyancy aid or life jacket.

A support boat is on hand within Valtoudi Bay.

Kayak Sessions
Book a Sea Kayak by the hour, 1/2 day (3 hours), or full day (6 hours). Weekly bookings by arrangement.

Kayak Lessons for Kids
Kids from 3 years old can learn to kayak in the safe shallow water. Of course, the grown ups can join in too!

Where to Kayak
Valtoudi Bay is approximately 1 km wide and 2 km long. Alatas Island encloses the bay, making the water sheltered and flat for kayaking. You can kayak across to the Marina and admire the yachts, follow the coastline past deserted beaches and coves to the tiny fishing village of Koukouleika for a taverna lunch, head to Milina with its seafront bars and tavernas, or kayak around the monastery Island of Alatas. You may spot sea turtles, seals or dolphins on the way!

Photos of your Kayak Sessions
If you would like photos of yourself kayaking we can take digital photos of you on the water and put them onto a data CD ready for printing when you get back home.

What to Bring for a day out Kayaking
Sunglasses.
A sunhat.
A bottle of water.
Gloves. If you are planning a full days expidition you may get blisters.
A cheap waterproof camera. Great fun for taking piccys from the boat.
Sun cream. You don't feel yourself burning when you are out on the water. It can be bought in all the local shops.
A plastic bag or splash proof holdall for you belongings.
A beach towel. Your hotel probably won't provide one.

Our Sea Kayaks
We have double and single Ocean Kayaks and Perception Kayaks available. The double kayaks can carry two adults and one child, and all kayaks have space for your belongings or a picnic.

Sea and Wind Conditions for Kayaking
Valtoudi Bay is protected from the Pagasitic Gulf by Alatas Island, making the sea sheltered and flat. The current and the tide are very gentle. These conditions are ideal for sea kayaking. You don't need to be fit or strong to enjoy meandering around the bay.

Health and Insurance
Water sports can be dangerous, both for beginners and experts. Please ensure you have sufficient travel insurance cover for taking part in water sports, and bring your European Health Insurance card in case you need medical attention.

European Health Insurance Card. This replaced the E111 form. If you need any medical assistance whilst in Europe this card entitles you to free or reduced cost health care. You may still have to pay for prescriptions and medicines. The card is free from www.ehic.org.uk.
Travel insurance. Not all travel insurance policies cover you for sports activities. Please check your policy details and make sure you have sufficient cover for any activities you wish to undertake.
