TRIKERI AND SURROUNDINGS
Trikeri village is perched 300 meters above sea level at the far end of the peninsula. This village is a matriarchy, and has passed land and property down through generations of women. It is a traditional Pelion village, with narrow cobbled footpaths and old stone houses. The views are south to the island of Evia and west to the mountains of Magnesia.
There is mule track or road access down to Trikeri bay and the sleepy boat building village of Agios Kiriaki, with its fish restaurants lining the waters edge. You can catch a boat from here to the tiny island of Paleo Trikeri. The island is barely two kilometres wide, and has to be explored on foot, following the winding pathways to the many deserted coves. Milos beach, one kilometre from Agios Kiriaki, is also a lovely place for a swim.

After exploring the Trikeri area, follow the road to Kottes, a tiny picturesque fishing port with tavernas and houses huddled around the cove. From there, the road to Agios Andreas and Milina winds along the waters edge with its uninterrupted views across the Pagasitic gulf, passing many deserted coves and beaches ideal for picnics and swimming, and the beautiful convent of Tzasteni. You can follow the footpath down to the convent and explore.
Three kilometres further along is the beach of Marathias. Here you will find two fish tavernas, one cocktail and ice cream bar, and beach umbrella and lounger hire. The beach is never crowded, and the turquoise waters are irresistible.
